This work is called „The Return”. And I truly cherished this return. A person who has emigrated to foreign lands – they will understand me particularly keenly, particularly closely.
You leave. And every day is like a wound that an emigrant carries within. Still, the roots appear in dreams. Still, you think about your origins, about your homeland. And a certain dream lives inside you – deep, intimate – to return there.
At once, a heartache begins. When you return – those who saw you off and greeted you will no longer be there. It will be empty. A ruined house. Strange neighbors. Not the same feelings.
For some reason we imagine: we will return, and those people who saw us off will greet us again. Then the pain comes. And you think: is that all? This will no longer exist.
You always want to return.
